This wine is a pioneer. This is the first serious Andalusian Red Wine. It is 100% estate grown at our Gibalbin vineyards in Cadiz (within the premium Jerez-Superior growing region). This is a true winemakers´ project. Our Montserrat Molina (from Barcelona) works with Bordeaux´s Bertrand Bourdil (ex-winemaker at Mouton Rothschild, collaborator in Opus One, actual director of Union des producteurs de Saint Emilion). The coupage is a provocative blend of national and international varietals (Tempranillo, Syrah, Cabernet, Merlot, Tintilla). Im Glas ein Zitrusgelb mit leich grünen (jugendlichen) Reflexen am Glasrand. In der Nase deutlich tropische Frücht. Am Gaumen ein lebendiger und frischer Wein. Eine frische Säure trägt super schön die Aromen von tropischen Früchten und Orangen Zest hervor. Der Körper ist nicht so schwer, her mittelkräftig, was wir sehr angenehm empfinden. IM Finale fährt der Wein noch einmal mit all seinen Aromen auf und hallt lange nach. Auch dieser Wein ist ein unkomplizierter Vertreter, der einfach Spaß macht....

Well structured. A big wine, broad and ripe, with plums, “Braaivleis” (barbequed meats) and just a hint of chocolate. The grapes were handpicked into small lug baskets and transported to Grangehurst Winery for destalking and crushing. The mash was fermented in open red fermenters ("kuipe"), with regular punching through of the skins until dry, at a temperature of ± 30 degrees C. After pressing, the free-run and press wines were blended and pumped into 225lt French (78%) and American (22%) oak barrels and matured for 11 months....

| | Hidden Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2007
Intense gooseberry, lime, passion fruit and peach skin characters explode from the glass. Mouth filling flavours of smoky fig and gooseberry and a long, lingering flinty finish. Vineyard blocks where harvested at different levels of ripeness to ensure complexity of flavour. The fruit was picked very early in the morning to preserve flavours. The grapes where then pressed as soon as they arrived at the winery and the resulting juice treated reductively, keeping oxygen out and preserving the delicate flavours. The wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures and then kept on the lees for another three months to gain more complexity....

Dieser Wein könnte eher aus dem guten alten Europa stammen als aus der neuen Welt. Unwahrscheinlich elegant und komplex. Im Glas ein dichtes Purpurrot. In der Nase ein erst verhaltender Duft und Aromen die an neues Leder erinnern. Dann mit etwas Luft entwickeln sich feine Aromen von saftigem Fleisch, von Tabak und etwas Erde. Dezente Anklänge von Lavendel und Pfeffer. Der Hauch Viognier, der in dem Wein enthalten ist, gibt den Touch von Aprikosen hinzu. Ein perfektes, wie auch komplexes Aromenspiel. Ein grandioses Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Ein so perfekter Wein zu dem Preis müssen Sie lange suchen. Unbedingt ausprobieren. Im Glas zeigt sich der Wein mit einem dichten dunkel Rot mit einem leicht orangenem Rand. In der Nase eine edle Aromenausprägung nach Blaubeeren, nach Flieder und Vanille. Komplex, so dass wir auch noch Aromen von dunklen Pflaumen und Kirschen finden. Am Gaumen dann ein berauschendes Erlebnis. Nicht nur die intensiven Aromen aus der Nase finden wir am Gaumen, sondern auch noch Aromen von Pfeffer und etwas Minze. Im Abgang zeigt sich etwas Lakritze. Der Körper ist nicht überdemensional.
