Intense gooseberry, lime, passion fruit and peach skin characters explode from the glass. Mouth filling flavours of smoky fig and gooseberry and a long, lingering flinty finish. Vineyard blocks where harvested at different levels of ripeness to ensure complexity of flavour. The fruit was picked very early in the morning to preserve flavours. The grapes where then pressed as soon as they arrived at the winery and the resulting juice treated reductively, keeping oxygen out and preserving the delicate flavours. The wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures and then kept on the lees for another three months to gain more complexity....

Deep ruby red colour with purple hue. Enticing aromas of Turkish delight, violet and liquorice. Ripe sweet fruit flavours of plums and chocolate with a soft lingering black cherry finish. The Shiraz was picked at optimum ripeness at between 25 and 26°B and fermented on the skins for one week. The wine then underwent malolactic fermentation in the barrel, followed by 13 months in French oak barrels....

Well structured. A big wine, broad and ripe, with plums, “Braaivleis” (barbequed meats) and just a hint of chocolate. The grapes were handpicked into small lug baskets and transported to Grangehurst Winery for destalking and crushing. The mash was fermented in open red fermenters ("kuipe"), with regular punching through of the skins until dry, at a temperature of ± 30 degrees C. After pressing, the free-run and press wines were blended and pumped into 225lt French (78%) and American (22%) oak barrels and matured for 11 months....
